
Sparks Partner with Trader Joe's to 'Pay it Foward'

LONG BEACH - In an effort to promote community service, the Los Angeles Sparks will be at the Trader Joe's Long Beach store location on Monday, August 3rd to kick start the Trader Joe's sponsored "Pay it Forward Night" which comes to STAPLES Center on Thursday, August 6th. While visiting Trader Joe's, the Sparks will adorn Sparks-themed Trader Joe's shirts as they disperse throughout the store bagging groceries, working tasting areas, and greeting customers.
The Sparks visit which will run from 3:00pm-5:00pm at the PCH Long Beach Trader Joe's located at 6451 E. Pacific Coast Highway, Long Beach, CA 90803 is a promotional event for the upcoming "Pay it Forward" night where fans are encouraged to donate food items (canned food and other non-perishable food). Sparks staff will be on hand to collect such items from fans for the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank prior to tip-off on Thursday, August 6th when the Sparks go head to head against conference rival, the Seattle Storm. Fans that donate food items will receive two FREE Sparks tickets to the August 10th game against the Indiana Fever.
Trader Joe's commitment to the community and the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank doesn't stop with "Pay it Forward" Night as it also includes a donation of $75 (benefiting the Los Angeles Regional Foodbank) for each three-pointer made by the Sparks at home games during the regular season.
Another item the Sparks are promoting at this event is a special ticket offer for the game on August 6th. If a fan brings a Trader Joe's receipt dated between Monday, July 27 and Monday, August 3rd valued at $50 or more to the STAPLES Center Box Office they will receive two (2) FREE tickets ($48 value) to the "Pay it Forward" game presented by Trader Joe's.
