CHICAGO, July 27, 2009 - After celebrating all-star weekend with tremendous performances from Sylvia Fowles, Jia Perkins and Candice Dupree the Sky will celebrate Inspiring Women Week.

Sylvia Fowles highlighted the 2009 WNBA All-Star game with the third dunk in WNBA All-Star history. Fowles also scored 17 points to lead the East. Perkins scored 16 points as an Eastern Conference reserve and Candice Dupree finished with 12 points.

The Sky will host the Los Angeles Sparks (4-9) on Wednesday night. The Sky are 1-5 all-time against the Sparks who will be without Lisa Leslie, but do have Candace Parker back. In the teams' last meeting the Sky lost 80-67.

On Saturday, the Sky plays the Connecticut Sun (9-6). The Sky has split the season series with the Sun so far with each team winning on its home court. In the teams' last meeting at Connecticut the Sun beat Chicago 91-61.

- Monday 7/27: Practice at Attack Athletics, 10am-1pm.

- Tuesday 7/28: Sky Service Project: 1-4pm: The entire Sky team and staff will join up with Chicago Cares in an attempt to restore 75-year-old Kelvyn Park in the predominantly Hispanic Hermosa Neighborhood.

- Wednesday 7/29: Inspiring Women Luncheon 10am-2pm: The WNBA will host the luncheon at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers to present the WBNA Inspiration Award to Cokie Roberts.

- Wednesday 7/29: Sky vs. Los Angeles Sparks, @ the UIC Pavilion 7:00pm CDT, Live on WNBA Live Access at www.chicagosky.net, shootaround from 10am-11am

- Thursday 7/30: Toyota Project Rebound, 9am: The Sky and WNBA will present renovations done on the Hirsch High School game and practice gyms. Then Coach Steven Key will conduct an instructional camp for the Hirsch girls' basketball teams. Mayor Daley will be in attendance and be presented with an honorary Sky jersey.

- Friday 7/31: Practice at Attack Athletics, 10am-12pm.

- Friday 7/31: Pitney Bowes Reading Timeout: Sylvia Fowles and Candice Dupree will read to about 50 kids who participate in the Chicago Public Libraries' summer reading program at the National Urban League Conference at McCormick Convention Center.

The Sky is one of six independently-owned teams in the WNBA, the world's longest-running women's professional sports league. Chicago finished fifth in the Eastern Division with a 12-22 record in their third season. Sylvia Fowles, Chicago's rookie center, ranked third in blocks per game and fifth in double-doubles with six. Forward Candice Dupree ranked third in defensive rebounds, fourth in rebounds per game and third in double-doubles with nine. Guard Jia Perkins ranked fourth in the league in steals, fifth in the league in free-throw percentage and seventh in points. The Sky plays at the Chicago's UIC Pavilion.
