Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

The Colorado Springs Sky Sox split their double header Tuesday evening with the Portland Beavers. The Sox lost the 1st game of the doubleheader 10-3 to the Portland Beavers. Starting pitcher Randy Flores (5-4) was roughed up allowing 8 runs on 9 hits in 4.1 innings. All three of the Sky Sox runs came off of solo-home runs by Luke Allen, Garrett Atkins, and Raul Casanova, who combined for 6 of the Sky Sox 7 hits. In game 2 offense was sparse for both teams. Khalil Greene got things started for the Beavers hitting a 2-Run home run in the 1st inning. The Sox fought back behind the offense of Garrett Atkins and Raul Casanova. But it was Choo Freeman with the score tied at 3 that hit the game ending home run to give the Sox the win. The series with Portland continues Wednesday with Denny Stark making his first ML-Rehab start for the Sox against Oliver Perez (3-3, 2.25) of Portland.
