Portland Beavers News Release

PORTLAND, Ore. - The National Hot Dog and Sausage Council estimates that 25.9 million hot dogs will be enjoyed at major league ballparks this season. To put that in perspective, if lined up end-to-end, they would stretch from Yankee Stadium to Dodger Stadium and would adequately feed the entire populations of the states of New York and Virginia.

While the Portland Beavers' geographical aspirations aren't quite so grand, they will be doing their part to promote baseball's favorite food item within the minor league baseball community with the introduction of "Dollar Dog Night," offering fans $1.00 hot dogs on Wednesday nights at the ballpark.

No need to eat before you get to the game on Wednesdays. The team announced that fans will be allowed to gobble up as many as eight hot dogs per purchase.

Dollar Dog Night debuts a week from today at PGE Park (Wednesday, June 18) when the Beavers play host to the New Orleans Zephyrs at 7:05 p.m.
