Sox end homestand with 5-3 victory over Beavers

The Sky Sox finished off their 8-game homestand with a 5-3 victory over the Portland Beavers Thursday at Sky Sox Stadium. Denny Neagle (3-0) pitched 6 solid innings giving up 3 runs on 7 hits. Raul Casanova, who was 3-4 on the evening with 2 singles and a home run (3), led the Sky Sox offense. Ben Petrick also chipped in with a home run and 2 RBI. Brad Clontz picked up his 15th save of the year by pitching a perfect 9th inning. The Sky Sox will head to New Orleans for a 5-game series against the Zephyrs including a double header on Saturday. The Sox will send Jason Young (4-2, 3.66) to the mound Friday against the Zephyrs Greg Miller (0-1, 7.50).

2B: Beavers- Bozied, Quinn.
HR: Sky Sox- Casanova (3), Petrick (11), Beavers- Quinn (5).
SB: Beavers- Fernandez.
