Colorado Springs Sky Sox News Release

The pre-game 21-gun salute was a sign of things to come as the Sky Sox pound the Oklahoma RedHawks 13-7 on Ft. Carson Appreciation Night at Sky Sox Stadium. The teams combined to hit 9 home runs including 2 by Sky Sox first baseman Andy Tracy. Tracy finished the night 3-5 with 2 runs scored and 4 RBI. Sky Sox starting pitcher Denny Stark pitched 5.0 innings allowing 6 runs (all earned) on 7 hits and 1 walk while striking out 4 before being ejected in the top of the 6th for hitting RedHawk left fielder Jason Jones. Stark had allowed back to back home runs to Oklahoma before backing Jones off the plate with his first offering then grazing Jones in the shoulder on the next pitch. The Sox and 'Hawks play game 3 of 4 on Wednesday night beginning at 7:05 from Sky Sox Stadium.
