Salem RidgeYaks News Release
Salem, VA (May 17, 2011) - After dodging numerous meteorological bullets, the Salem Sox were finally beaten by Mother Nature on Tuesday night. The scheduled second game of Salem's four-game series with Wilmington was postponed shortly after 7 PM, teeing up a Wednesday twin-bill. The Red Sox and Blue Rocks will play a pair of seven-inning tilts beginning at 12:05 PM.
Tuesday night's postponement is the sixth of the season for Salem, four of which have been home games that have been disrupted by the weather. So far in 2011, the Sox have played three doubleheaders, compiling a 4-2 record in the double-dips with two splits and a sweep.
