
Sounders FC Signs Pereira

RENTON, WASH. - Seattle Sounders FC has signed midfielder Fabio Pereira, the club announced today. Per Major League Soccer and club policy, terms were not disclosed. Pereira will be added to the roster pending receipt of his P-I Visa.
Pereira, 22, was selected by Sounders FC with the 77th overall pick in the 2014 MLS SuperDraft. He finished second on the team with two goals in the 2014 preseason, starting two of four appearances. Pereira completed his collegiate career ranked second in Michigan history with 22 assists, and he started 66 of his 79 appearances. A native of Sao Paulo, Brazil, Pereira relocated to the United States in high school.
"Fabio is a young player who is skillful and has a nose for goal coming out of the midfield," said Head Coach Sigi Schmid. "He has good vision and desire. We are excited to add Fabio to our mix."
Sounders FC kicks off the league's 19th season this Saturday against the MLS Cup champion Sporting Kansas City on NBC Sports Network. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m. PT on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field.
