
Sounders FC Fans Encouraged to Plan Ahead for Saturday's Match

RENTON, Wash. - Seattle Sounders FC encourages fans attending Saturday's match to plan ahead and arrive well in advance of kickoff to avoid possible traffic delays and congestion due to weekend lane and ramp closures. First kick for Sounders FC versus Sporting Kansas City is noon on the Xbox Pitch at CenturyLink Field. General gates open at 10:30 a.m.
Sounders FC will honor the 40th anniversary of professional soccer in Seattle throughout the 2014 MLS regular season in tribute to the original launch of the Sounders in the North American Soccer League in 1974. This will be the first of eight matches that the Sounders kit will include the 40th anniversary logo. The logo will also be utilized for the team's full bowl matches and games against San Jose. As part of the opening ceremonies, the club will reveal a 40th anniversary banner in the southeast corner and invite fans in the lower bowl to participate in a card stunt following the national anthem.
March to the Match activities begin at 10:15 a.m. at Occidental Park in Pioneer Square. Sound Wave and Funky 2 Deathwill perform.
Fans are invited to participate in all Soccer Celebration activities located outside the northwest gate, within the North Plaza and continue throughout the CenturyLink Field Plaza. Activities include inflatable games, face painting, hair painting, music and more. Soccer Celebration activities conclude at kickoff. PEMCO Insurance will provide themed Sounders FC foosball tables. Winners will have the opportunity to go to Starfire Sports to play against Sounders FC players.
Washington 's Lottery provides fans an opportunity to play "Man of the Match" for a chance to win a seat on the Lottery sideline couch. Each winner will receive complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages during the match, and a Sounders FC jersey. Man of the Match booths are located near sections 106, 121 and 139.
Sounders FC season ticket members can earn 20% cash back at allconcessions until 30 minutes before kick this season. Cash back will be added in the form of stored value after each home match, and fans can check their balances on the MatchPass website, this offer excludes alcohol.
