
Sounders FC Hosts Rival Portland Timbers Saturday Afternoon at Lumen Field

SEATTLE, WASH. -Following a 1-0 midweek loss to the San Jose Earthquakes, Sounders FC concludes its three-match homestand against archrival Portland Timbers on Saturday, June 3 on the Emerald Queen Casino Pitch at Lumen Field (1:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV -Watch Free, FOX, 93.3 KJR FM, Sirius XM FC, El Rey 1360 AM).
The match is part of a Seattle-Portland doubleheader featuring both cities' topflight men's and women's soccer teams at Lumen Field, with a single ticket providing access to the full day. Following Sounders FC's match at 1:30 p.m. PT, OL Reign hosts the Portland Thorns at 5:00 p.m. PT.
Seattle has played to a 14-14-7 record against Portland in regular-season play since the Timbers joined MLS in 2011. However, the Oregon side has won the last four contests dating back to August 29, 2021, outscoring Seattle 11-2. Portland previously defeated Seattle 4-1 on April 15 earlier this season at Providence Park.
The match also marks Seattle's third Cascadia Cup match of the year, a regional competition between the Portland Timbers, Vancouver Whitecaps FC and Seattle Sounders FC. The Rave Green currently sit in last place in the standings with zero points through two matches.
Following Saturday's match, Sounders FC hits the road for its first-ever trip to Bank of America Stadium to take on Charlotte FC on Saturday, June 10 (4:30 p.m. PT / Apple TV, iHeartMedia, El Rey 1360 AM).
