Sounders FC Hosts Austin FC at Lumen Field Saturday Night
September 10, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Seattle Sounders FC News Release
SEATTLE, WASH. - After a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Houston Dynamo FC last weekend, Seattle Sounders FC (11-15-3, 36 points) sets its sights on Austin FC (15-8-6, 51 points), hosting the Texas side tonight at Lumen Field (5:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). The matchup marks only the fourth time these two teams have met, with Austin FC joining MLS in 2021. Seattle is unbeaten in three meetings with Austin (1-0-2).
The fixture proves critical for Seattle, who currently sits in ninth place in the Western Conference with 36 points, six points behind the final playoff spot. Austin FC sits in second place in the Western Conference with 51 points.
Following tonight's clash, Sounders FC heads north to British Columbia to take on Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday, September 17 (7:00 p.m. PT / FOX 13+, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
