ALBANY, NY - The American Hockey League's Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, won on the road in overtime for the second night in a row Saturday, following up Friday's 2-1 victory over the Hartford Wolf Pack with a 4-3 win against the Albany River Rats. The Sound Tigers have now won three straight road games.

The Sound Tigers opened the scoring when Rob Collins chipped home a loose puck off a funny bounce just 34 seconds into the game with Brendan Yarema and Richard Seeley earning the assists. The goal was the team-leading 16th of the season for Collins and extended his point-scoring streak to ten games. Yarema also upped a scoring streak to four games on the play.

Albany tied the score at 1-1 just 1:18 later when Tuomas Pihlman notched his fifth goal of the year off an assist from Cam Janssen.

The River Rats took their first lead of the contest on a delayed-penalty goal with 40.4 seconds left in the opening frame as Zach Parise fought off a hook and fed a cross-ice pass to Pascal Rheaume who slipped the puck back across to Kenny Magowan who then tucked it past Sound Tigers goaltender Dieter Kochan for his second goal of the season to make it 2-1.

The Sound Tigers tied the score 7:01 into the second period when Collins redirected a Justin Papineau wraparound for his second goal of the game and 17th of the season to make it 2-2. Defenseman Jody Robinson earned the second assist on the equalizer by keeping the puck in the offensive zone at the right point and putting a shot on goal, the rebound of which was grabbed by Papineau.

Papineau regained the lead for the Sound Tigers at 3-2 with a power-play goal, his ninth goal of the season, off assists from Collins and Chris Campoli with 45.8 seconds left in the middle frame. Collins is now on a seven game assist streak while Campoli upped an assist and point run to three straight games on the play. The assist was also the third point of the game and team-leading 44th overall for Collins.

Albany tied the game with a power-play just past the mid-point of the third period as Dean McAmmond floated a wrist shot past Kochan for his 15th goal and team-leading 48th point of the season off assists from Magowan and Parise to make it 3-3.

The Sound Tigers appeared to be the more aggressive team in the extra session, and their persistence paid off when Cole Jarrett grabbed the rebound of his own wraparound attempt, patiently picked his time to shoot and fired a wrist shot that was redirected by Yarema for the deciding goal with 57.9 seconds left to play. Campoli also assisted on the goal, which was the sixth of the season and second in as many games for Yarema.

Yarema was the first star of the game, Magowan the second and Papineau the third. Kochan made 29 saves to improve his record to 13-12 while River Rats netminder Scott Clemmensen made 33 stops in a losing effort. The Sound Tigers had a 37-32 shots on goal advantage. Both teams were 1 for 4 on the power play.

The Sound Tigers will return home to host the Portland Pirates tomorrow at 4:05 p.m. The first 2,000 fans who enter tomorrow's game at Bridgeport's Arena at Harbor Yard will receive a Sound Tigers rally towel courtesy of Blue Streak, and there will be an open skate with select Sound Tigers players following the contest; fans must bring their own skates.
