SOUND TIGERS WEEKLY SPOTLIGHT JOE TALLARI

Left & Right Wing - Shoots: Left

Height: 6'0'' Weight: 195 lbs

Born: October 5, 1980 in Thunder Bay, Ontario

First signed with the Sound Tigers in March of 2005

What is the best thing to do in Thunder Bay besides hockey? Water sports are the biggest thing in the off-season. I do a lot of tubing and wake boarding although it is really tough to stay on the board. I also enjoy hiking.

If you could have your mom's cooking tonight, what would you be having? Her homemade pizza is my favorite.

Who were your favorite NHL team and player growing up as a kid in Thunder Bay? The Detroit Red Wings and Steve Yzerman were my favorites. I was extremely excited when they won the Stanley Cup in 1997. Even though I didn't know Yzerman, you feel so excited for him knowing he has worked so hard to win the Stanley Cup. I also liked Joe Sakic.

What was your major at Niagara University? Marketing, because I consider myself a business man. It's always something that I've been interested in and am excited to pursue once I retire from hockey.

Playing in Hartford and now Bridgeport, what makes Bridgeport better? I will never forget my experience in Hartford because it was my first game in the AHL; but Bridgeport has given me more of an opportunity to succeed with the amount of games I've played, and the fans here are great, they've always been loud and supportive of the team.

Do you have any superstitions? I like to keep things simple. There are so many things on a game day that are out of my control that as long as I keep things simple, I feel good going into the game.
