Senators sign winger Dusty Jamieson to 25-game PTO; Kompon released

BINGHAMTON, N.Y. - The Binghamton Senators of the American Hockey League today announced that they have signed winger Dusty Jamieson of the ECHL's Charlotte Checkers to a 25-game professional tryout agreement. Also on Tuesday, center Mike Kompon was released from his 25-game professional tryout agreement after registering three assists and no goals in 11 games for the Senators.

Jamieson leads the Checkers with 55 points (27 goals, 28 assists) in 50 games. The 24-year-old native of Forest, Ontario was selected by the Montreal Canadiens in the fifth round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. In his only previous American Hockey League stint, Jamieson was held scoreless in six games with the Hartford Wolf Pack during the 2003-04 season.

Kompon, a 24-year-old native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, will return to the Reading Royals of the ECHL. He was leading the Royals with 54 points (13 goals, 41 assists) in 37 games when he was called up to Binghamton on Feb 9, 2006.
