Another Peoria player earns spot on St. Louis roster

Peoria, IL (March 7, 2006) - Peoria Rivermen General Manager of Hockey Operations Kevin McDonald announced today that the Rivermen parent club St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL) has recalled right wing Jon DiSalvatore (dih-SAL-vuh-TOHR) from his loan to the Rivermen.

DiSalvatore, 24, returns to St. Louis for his second stint with the Blues this season. The 6-1, 200-pound right wing made his NHL debut with the Blues on Thursday, January 19, at Washington and has seen action in a total of four NHL games so far this season for St. Louis. At the time of his recall, DiSalvatore ranked as Peoria's leading active scorer with 54 points (17 goals, 37 assists) in 55 games played. The native of Bangor, Maine, was originally chosen by the San Jose Sharks with their second selection, 104th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft.

The Rivermen are a proud new member of the AHL. Founded in 1936, the AHL now serves as the primary development league for all 30 National Hockey League teams and is celebrating its 70th anniversary season in 2005-06.
