
Soteropoulos called up

New Jersey Cardinals News Release
Peter Soteropoulos, a 40th round draft pick in the 2003 First Year Player Draft by the St. Louis Cardinals, has been called up from the Johnson City Cardinals to the New Jersey Cardinals. In nine games with Johnson City, Soteropoulos went 0-1 pitching 9.2 innings and allowed nine hits and no earned runs.
Soteropoulos joins his former college teammate Erik Drown in New Jersey. They both pitched for the University of Connecticut in 2003. Soteropoulos led the Huskies as a hitter in batting average (.381), hits (67) ,triples (4) and walks (29).
The Cardinals face the Aberdeen Ironbirds tomorrow at 5 p.m. at Skylands Park. The first 1,000 kids will receive a t-shirt courtesy of Sussex County Department of Health and Human Services.
