
Solar Bears Close Road Trip With 4-0 Loss

Las Vegas, NV - The Orlando Solar Bears surrendered three special teams goals in 4-0 loss to the Las Vegas Wranglers at Orleans Arena on Saturday night.
The Wranglers potted the game's first goal late in the opening frame. C Eric Lampe won an offensive zone faceoff back to D Josh Godfrey, who blasted a slap shot into the top left corner of the net with 3:11 left in the period. It was the lone goal of the first, as Las Vegas took a 1-0 lead into the intermission.
Just over five minutes into the second stanza, Las Vegas used a 5-on-3 power play to increase their lead to 2-0. Godfrey fired a shot from the top of the slot and C Chris Francis jumped on the rebound, sliding the puck underneath G Hannu Toivonen for the only second period goal.
The Wranglers used the first three minutes of the third period to take control of the contest. Godfrey struck for his second goal of the night 28 seconds into the frame with a one-timer on the power play, and F Andrew Sarauer stole a puck in the attacking zone and finished off a shorthanded breakaway at 2:41 to lift the Wranglers to the eventual 4-0 win.
