
Solar Bears Add Goaltender Charlie Millen

ORLANDO, Fla. - The Orlando Solar Bears have announced that the club has signed rookie goaltender Charlie Millen to an Amateur Tryout Agreement and placed goaltender Ryan Massa on reserve.
Millen, 24, begins his pro career after suiting up in 16 games this season with Laurentian University of the Canadian U Sports system, going 6-8-0 with a 3.42 goals-against average and a .898 save percentage. In 41 career games for the Voyageurs, Millen sports a 12-22-0 record with 4.04 goals-against average and .888 save percentage. Millen was coached at Laurentian by former IHL Solar Bears player Craig Duncanson.
The 5-foot-11, 180-pound netminder also has 11 major junior appearances in QMJHL and OHL action to his credit with the Gatineau Olympiques, Saint John Sea Dogs, Blainville-Boisbriand Armada, Drummondville Voltigeurs and Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds, going 1-6-1 with a 4.23 goals-against average, and .846 save percentage and one shutout.
A native of Peterborough, Ontario, Millen is the son of former NHL goaltender Greg Millen, and has previously appeared in development camp with the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Orlando Solar Bears continue their fifth season of ECHL hockey when they host the Greenville Swamp Rabbits at the ARS.com Rink at Amway Center on Thursday, March 2 at 7 p.m.
