Montgomery Biscuits News Release

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Blake Snell (3-0) extended his scoreless-innings streak and Patrick Leonard hit an inside-the-park home run to help the Biscuits (17-21) take down the Chattanooga Lookouts (23-15) 4-2 Monday afternoon at AT&T Field.

Snell only allowed two hits while striking out six in his six scoreless-innings, extending the streak to 49 innings. The left-hander twice had to work his way out of trouble. Jorge Polanco led off the fourth inning with a single and moved to second on a wild pitch. After a ground out moved Polanco to third, Snell struck out Travis Harrison, walked Adam Walker but then struck out Stuart Turner to end the inning. Snell also worked around a one-out single from Polanco in the sixth inning.

The Biscuits offense was started when Leonard hit a fly ball high off the wall in left center. The ball bounced all the way back into left field allowing Leonard to sprint around the bases for a home run.

Justin O'Conner drove in two runs with a double in the fourth inning to give the Biscuits a 3-0 lead. Johnny Field Jr. gave the Biscuits some insurance with an RBI-single in the eighth inning.

The only runs for Chattanooga came in the seventh inning when Max Kepler hit a two-run home run to make it a 3-2 game. Parker Markel pitched a scoreless eighth inning while Bryce Stowell (1) picked up his second save in as many days by working a scoreless ninth.

The Biscuits will have game four with the Lookouts on Tuesday at 6:15 CT. RH Jared Mortensen will throw against RH D.J. Baxendale.
