PEARL, MS -- RHP Ryan Weber has been transferred back to Double-A Mississippi from Triple-A Gwinnett. In corresponding moves, RHP Kanekoa Texeira has been transferred to Gwinnett from Mississippi.
Weber, 24, made a spot start for the G-Braves on May 17 where he tossed five shutout innings, allowing just two hits. He was 0-1 with a 1.93 ERA in nine appearances with the M-Braves. In three spot starts, Weber had a 1.64 ERA compared to a 2.19 ERA in six relief appearances. He's holding right-handed hitters to a .146 batting average while holding batters to a .158 average with runners in scoring position. The Florida native was selected by the Braves in the 22nd round of the 2009 draft out of St. Petersburg College.
Texeira, 29, was 0-2 with an 8.10 ERA in four games with the G-Braves. He was holding lefties to a .214 batting average compared to a .391 mark against right-handers. He joined the G-Braves late last season where he posted a record of 3-5 with a 4.86 ERA in 13 appearances. Texeira made his Major League debut in 2010. He combined to appear in 43 games between Seattle (0-1, 5.30) and Kansas City (1-0, 4.64). The Hawaiian was signed by the Braves as a free agent on June 24, 2014.
