Beloit Sky Carp News Release
The Snappers and Cougars split the doubleheader with the Snappers taking game one by a final score of 7-0, as the Cougars repaid the favor in game two with extra frames winning 3-2.
In game one Snappers' first baseman Michael Gonzales cracked his fifth home run of the year, which is a team high to put the Snappers up 2-0 early on.
The Snappers would break out the game with a five run fifth inning, where the Snappers pounded out five hits and one walk making the score 7-0.
Miguel Munoz (1-2) went the distance and picked up his first win of 2010 via shutout. Munoz struck out three batters and walks two and scattered out three hits.
The Snapper defense also turned three double plays in game one.
In game two the Snappers were one out away from victory when a wild pitch by Kane Holbrooks allowed Myrio Richard scored from all the way from second base to tie the game at two.
In the top of the ninth another two base wild pitch allowed Cougars DH Max Stassi to reach third and scored later on a single by Nino Leyja.
Snappers' right hander Brad Stillings (2-2) will make his eight start of the season Wednesday night with first pitch scheduled for 6:30PM.
