Cedar Rapids Kernels News Release
The Cedar Rapids Kernels and Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announce INF Michael Wing has been placed on the 7-day disabled list with a right hamstring strain and that INF Dwayne Bailey will join the Kernels from Extended Spring Training. Abe Flores, Director of Player Development for the LA Angels, announced the move on Tuesday.
Wing injured his hamstring in Sunday's 4-3 Kernels loss at Clinton. He was batting .200 with 6 RBI in 14 games this year.
Bailey played with the Kernels in 2009, batting .219 with 12 RBI in 59 games. He was selected by the Angels in the 21st round of the 2008 Free Agent Draft out of the University of Central Florida.
With today's transactions, the Kernels roster stands at the MWL maximum of 25 active players with two players on the disabled list.
The Kernels open a three game home stand tonight at Perfect Game Field at Veterans Memorial Stadium against Quad Cities at 6:35 pm. Tickets may be purchased on-line at www.kernels.com The opinions expressed in this release are those of the organization issuing it, and do not necessarily reflect the thoughts or opinions of OurSports Central or its staff.
