Snappers Rally Yet Again

Beloit Sky Carp News Release
Less than 24 hours after a remarkable nine-run comeback victory, the Snappers pulled off another dramatic late-inning rally Sunday afternoon as they defeated Kane County 5-4 in twelve innings.
Tyler Marincov provided the winning run as he hit a walk-off two-run home run in the bottom of the twelfth inning, the Snappers' second straight walk-off victory.
Much like last night's game, the Cougars appeared to have the game in hand but couldn't seal the win. Kane County took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning, but a defensive fielding error paved the way for the Snappers to force extra innings.
Luis Baez led off the ninth inning with a double to right field that was bobbled and dropped by RF Jake Hannemann. B.J. Boyd capitalized on the slugger's mistake as he hit a double in the next at-bat to score Baez and cut the deficit to 3-2.
Melvin Mercedes provided the game tying at-bat as his bunt sent Boyd home to tie the game at 3.
After two scoreless extra innings, the Cougars took a 4-3 lead off a Jacob Rogers home run in the top of the twelfth inning. Kane County scored all four of its runs via the deep ball on the afternoon. Beloit ranks 15th in the Midwest League in home runs allowed (46).
The Snappers would answer in the bottom of the frame as Jaycob Brugman got on base as the leadoff hitter. In the next at-bat, Marincov launched a walk-off home run to left field to secure the 5-4 victory for Beloit.
Beloit has won six straight games against Kane County, including two consecutive series sweeps at against the league leaders.
After the All-Star Break, the Snappers return to action Thursday against the Clinton LumberKings.
