
Snappers Lose in Extra Innings

Beloit took a 1-0 lead for the third straight game. Edward Ovalle led off the fourth inning with a double to left field. After Eli Tintor singled, Ovalle advanced to third. Ovalle would eventually come around to score on a double play to give Beloit a 1-0 advantage. The Snappers extended their lead to 2-0 with a run in the sixth inning when Caleb Moore, who doubled in the inning, scored on a sacrifice fly by Yancarlos Ortiz. The Kernels scored a run in the seventh and a run eighth to tie the game 2-2. In the top of the 12th Cedar Rapids scored twice, giving them a 4-2 lead. The Snappers were unable to get anything going in the bottom of the 12th and lost by a score of 4-2. Starting pitcher Adam Hawes went six scoreless innings, striking out four and walking one.
Upcoming Schedule: The Snappers and Kernels will play the final game of this four game series Sunday, April 9 at Pohlman Field, first pitch is set for 2:00 pm.
