
Smokies Salute Fans for Final Homestand of 2014 Regular Season

KODAK - The Smokies return home on Friday, August 22 for their final homestand of the 2014 regular season with a five-game set against the Jacksonville Suns, the Double-A affiliate of the Miami Marlins. The club plans to go out in style, beginning with a bang with Friday Night Fireworks, followed by the annual Dog Calendar giveaway, in addition to Fan Appreciation Night on Tuesday, August 26.
Fans are encouraged to show their school spirit with the college football season approaching with College Colors Night on Friday, August 22. Represent your alma mater and/or favorite school at Smokies Stadium, and perhaps sing "Rocky Top" all night long at the ballpark. In addition, as part of Remote Area Medical Friday Night, there last Friday Night Fireworks show of the season is sure to be a blast, presented by Pepsi, Coor's Light, Knoxville News Sentinel, WVLT and WIVK. First pitch is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
After staying late, fans will want to arrive early on Saturday, August 23, with the first 1,500 fans receiving a free Smokies Dog Calendar, featuring several Smokies players and coaches posing with pooches to get fans looking forward to the 2015 season, presented by Frontline Heartgard and Pet Safe. In addition, fans will want to Get in Tune for the Big Boom with a post-game concert performed by country recording artist Matt Gary, presented by Pioneer Heating and Air and Q100. First pitch is slated for 6:15 p.m. at Smokies Stadium.
The fun continues on Sunday, August 24 with the Smokies' Road Jersey Auction taking place during the game. The online bidding has already begun for the jerseys and will wrap up Sunday morning at 10:00 a.m. ET before fans at Sunday afternoon's contest will have the last chance to bid in person on the jerseys and get a chance to acquire their favorite player's. In addition, it's the final U.S. Cellular Family FUNday of the regular season, with families able to take advantage of a great ticket deal that includes four tickets, four meal vouchers and two wristbands to Homer the Hound's Playland for only $49 dollars. Start time for Sunday afternoon's matchup is scheduled for 2:00 p.m.
Fans get the bang for their buck at Smokies Stadium on Monday, August 25 thanks to McGhee Tyson Airport Low Fare Monday. Hotdogs, popcorn, small sodas and programs will be available to fans for just one dollar each thanks to this great deal. First pitch Monday night is scheduled for 7:15 p.m.
And finally, it's Fan Appreciation Night for the final regular season home game of the 2014 season on Tuesday, August 26. Fans will have a chance to win a bevy of prizes throughout the evening as the Smokies celebrate a successful season thanks to their one-of-a-kind fans. In addition, it's the final Tail Waggin' Tuesday of the regular season, with man's best friend able to join their owners on the berm at Smokies Stadium and take in a ballgame thanks to Frontline Heartgard. First pitch for the last regular season game of 2014 is set for 7:15 p.m.
