MONTGOMERY - The Tennessee Smokies took the first game of this four-game series 3-2 Tuesday night at Riverwalk Stadium.

Smokies starter Tony Pena pitched well, going 7 1/3 innings and allowing only a pair of solo home runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four. Mike Shultz (3-3) recorded the final out of the eighth inning to earn the win. Casey Daigle earned his eighth save by pitching a scoreless ninth.
Rico Washington was 1 for 3 with a walk to extend his Biscuits-record hitting streak to 19 games.
Chairon Isenia and Shawn Riggans hit the Biscuits third pair of back-to-back home runs of the season in the sixth inning.
The Smokies scored single runs in the fourth and sixth innings off Autrey. Jamie D'Antona scored on a throwing error by right-fielder Delmon Young in the fourth and D'Antona drove in Dan Uggla with a double to left in the sixth.
