
BayBears start half with win

MOBILE, AL- With a 28-42 first half in their rearview mirror, the Mobile BayBears started the second half with a win. A five run fifth inning highlighted the BayBears 7-5 victory over Huntsville. Corey Smith hit a two-run double, and Casey Baker added a two-run single in the rally.
The Stars tied the game at 5 in the seventh inning when Anthony Gwynn hit a two-run double, and Nelson Cruz hit a two run single. The BayBears scored once in the seventh and once in the eighth to take a 7-5 lead. Dale Thayer left two runners on base and pitched a scoreless ninth inning to close the win for the BayBears.
