Diamond Jaxx take series opener against Suns

Jackson, TN- The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx began the second half of the Southern League season with a convincing 7-4 win over the Jacksonville Suns in the first game of a four game series between the first half division winners.

RHP Jae-kuk Ryu pitched seven solid innings to pick up his sixth win of the season. Ryu (6-3) allowed just two runs on five hits over seven innings. The Seoul, South Korea native walked two and struckout two. Ryu also had two hits and two RBI's on the night. Jacksonville starter Eric Hull suffered the loss, dropping his record to 4-4 on the season. Hull surrendered six runs on ten hits in 5 2/3 innings of work. Hull walked three and struckout seven. Ryu had two hits and two RBI's while Buck Coats had three hits and Adam Greenberg had two hits and a RBI to help lead the Diamond Jaxx twelve hit attack.

Jacksonville got a homer and three RBI's from 2B Delwyn Young to pace the Suns offense.

Game two of the four game series takes place on Wednesday morning at 11:05 CDT. LHP Sean Marshall will make his 2005 Double-A debut for the Diamond Jaxx. Jacksonville will counter with right-hander Joel Hanrahan (4-3 4.66).
