Dubuque Fighting Saints News Release
DUBUQUE, Iowa - The USHL league office announced that Evan Smith earned Forward of the Week, and Hunter Miska earned Goaltender of the Week following the weekend sweep of the Fargo Force.
Smith, a second-year forward with the Dubuque Fighting Saints, notched a hat trick, the first of his USHL career, in the 6-1 victory over the Force on Friday night. He was also credited with the primary assist on his brother Mitchell's game-winning goal on Saturday night's 2-1 triumph. He now leads the team in goals with 5, and in points with 8.
Miska, the league-leader in wins (6), led the way for the Fighting Saints in the weekend sweep. His 40-save performance on Friday night flummoxed the Force on several scoring opportunities. He also stopped 21 shots in Saturday night's victory. In total, he stopped 61 of 63 shots.
The Fighting Saints will look to keep a four-game winning streak going against the Des Moines Buccaneers on Friday, October 30 at 7:05 p.m. Listen to all of the live action on the home of the Fighting Saints, Dubuque's Super Hits 106.1 FM, or on the USHL's video provider, FASTHockey.com.
