Lincoln Stars News Release
Lincoln, Neb. - Stars goaltender Peyton Jones has committed to play at Penn State University for the 2016-2017 season, Jones announced via Twitter on Monday.
"It's been a dream of mine," Jones said of committing to PSU. "It's dream school and I'm excited to be a part of the Penn State family."
In his second year with the Stars, Jones is 4-0-0 with a 1.00 GAA and .964 save percentage. He has posted two shutouts through four starts.
"It prepared me for a faster level of play and allowed me to play in front of scouts," Jones said of the USHL.
The Langhorne, Pennsylvania native is the only Star to commit to Penn State. He will follow the path of Stars alum Eric Scheid, who is in his third season with the Nittany Lions.
The Stars return to the Ice Box Tuesday, October 27 to play the Des Moines Buccaneers.
