
SLC Stars Claim First Victory of OKC Blue Double-Header

SALT LAKE CITY - The Salt Lake City Stars, the official NBA G League affiliate of the Utah Jazz, claimed the first contest of their back-to-back road trip against the Oklahoma City Blue, 108-95 at the Paycom Center this morning.
The Stars were paced by Frank Jackson for the second game in a row. Jackson, coming off a 45-point performance against the Texas Legends on Monday, scored a game-high 24 points on 9-of-17 (.529) from the floor and 5-of-11 (.455) from behind the arc, along with three rebounds. Center Tyler Cook notched his sixth double-double of the regular season, with 16 points and 10 rebounds, along with seven rebounds. Stacy Davis and Christian Vital tallied 13 points respectively off the bench, while Utah Jazz two-way Micah Potter contributed 16 points, seven rebounds, and two assists.
Five players for the Blue scored in double figures, led by Robert Woodard II, who finished with a team-high 21 points on 9-of-19 from the floor and 3-of-9 from downtown, also notching a double-double on 12 rebounds. Jahmi'us Ramsey came off the bench to add 20 points, all of which came from the field, while Sacha Killeya-Jones netted 12 points, grabbed seven rebounds, and served four assists.
The game was tightly contested through the first half of play, with Oklahoma City jumping out on top to steal the largest lead of the game of 17 points, ending the first frame 34-21. The Stars outscored the Blue in the second 31-16, to claim their comeback and head into intermission 52-50. The third quarter was a back-and-forth battle with 12 lead changes and four ties, however Jeenathan Williams' six-point quarter contribution sent the Stars into the fourth, leading 76-71.
Salt Lake City secured their eleventh win in the last thirteen games, grabbing the early 108-95 victory against the Oklahoma City Blue.
The Stars held the advantage in three-pointers (11-8), steals (14-7), assists (27-26), and fast break points (15-8), while the Blue grabbed more boards (46-42), scored more points in the paint (66-60), and blocked more shots (3-2).
Salt Lake City will have the chance to claim a third victory on the road, as they rematch the Oklahoma City Blue once more at the Paycom Center on Friday, Mar. 10 at 6 p.m. (MT). The game will be streamed live on NBAGLeague.com.
