Raptors 905 (13-11), the NBA G League affiliate of the Toronto Raptors dropped the first of two matchups against the Delaware Blue Coats (18-7) 97-112 Wednesday evening. The 905 were led by Ron Harper Jr. who contributed 25 points, four rebounds, two steals, three blocks, and a career-high 10 assists. Braxton Key led the Blue Coats off the bench with 21 points, nine rebounds, four assists, and two steals in the victory.
Delaware opened the ball game strong, gaining the upper hand as they outscored the 905 29-25 in the opening quarter. The visitors showed no signs of slowing down in the second extending their lead to nine points going into the break.
The Blue Coats took control of the second half, extending their lead to 16 points before a 905 comeback cut the lead to nine entering the final frame. The Blue Coats continued to push the pace in the fourth, outscoring the home team 32-26, and securing the win in Mississauga.
Jeff Dowtin Jr. paced the 905 adding 18 points, eight rebounds, and three steals in the match while Delaware received complementary scoring from Michael Foster Jr. who contributed 18 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and five blocks.
The two teams meet again to complete the second game of back-to-back matchups Thursday, tip-off scheduled for 7:30 pm.
