March 8, 2023 - NBA G League (G League) News Release


MAC AND THREES: Philadelphia 76ers two-way guard Mac McClung was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Feb. 27 through Sunday, March 5. McClung averaged 28.7 points, 4.3 assists and 1.7 steals in helping lead the Delaware Blue Coats to a 3-0 week. The 2023 AT&T Slam Dunk champion averaged 4.3 three-pointers during the week and is currently shooting 47.8 percent from beyond the arc, good for sixth in the NBA G League.

WILD, WILD WEST: The Stockton Kings, Memphis Hustle and South Bay Lakers sit atop the Western Conference standings, separated by only two games. South Bay and Stockton have both won six of their last seven with the Kings currently on a five-game winning streak. The Lakers will look to gain some ground on the Kings when they host Stockton on Saturday, March 11 at 8 p.m. ET on NBAGLeague.com.

INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY: Tonight, eight female officials are assigned to six NBA G League games, including an all-women's staff (Jenna Reneau, Clare Aubry and Catherine Chang) officiating the Delaware Blue Coats at Raptors 905 game. Twenty-eight of the 63 full-time NBA G League officials are women. Fun Fact: There are eight female NBA full-time officials and all of them were hired from the NBA G League.

Grand Rapids Gold guard Jared Butler signed a two-way contract with the Oklahoma City Thunder on March 3, becoming the 900th NBA Gatorade Call-Up in league history. Chris Ander- sen received the first Call-Up in NBA G League history, signing with the Denver Nuggets on Nov. 21, 2001, after playing for the Fayetteville Patriots. There have been 42 Call-Ups so far this season, with the Sioux Falls Skyforce having the most players called up with six, including two Call-Ups for guard Jamaree Bouyea.

Wisconsin Herd guard Lindell Wigginton, who just signed a two-way contract with the Milwaukee Bucks, poured in a career-high 41 points in his team's 120-106 win over the Salt Lake City Stars on Feb. 28.

On March 5, Westchester Knicks rookie Garrison Brooks picked up his first 20-point, 20-rebound game in their 121-120 victory over the Windy City Bulls. Brooks finished with 26 points, 20 rebounds and four assists.

Recent NBA Call-Up Chris Silva returned to College Park and tallied 33 points, 15 rebounds, three steals and three blocks in the Skyhawks' 120-117 win over the Greensboro Swarm on March 2.

Rio Grande Valley Vipers guard Jarrett Culver scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds in their 125-117 win over the Oklahoma City Blue on March 3. The former NBA lottery pick also grabbed four steals.
