Hudson Valley Renegades News Release

(Wappingers Falls, NY)- Behind DJ Slaton's six innings of no hit baseball, the Hudson Valley Renegades shutdown the Mahoning Valley Scrappers 4-1 at Dutchess Stadium. The win was the Renegades' league leading 20th of the season and 8th straight at home.

Slaton got the Renegades off to a stellar start, surrendering no hits and only three base-runners in his 6 innings of work. He departed after the sixth with his no hitter still intact.

The Renegades got on the scoreboard first in the bottom of the fourth inning. Leopoldo Correa started a two out rally with a single to right field. He would advance to second on a wild pitch and then be driven in by a Wilmer Dominguez single. That gave the Renegades a 1-0 advantage.

The Renegades tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the fifth inning. Braxton Lee singled to lead things off in the inning. Coty Blanchard then brought Lee in to score, roping a triple into the right center field gap. Blanchard came around to score on a wild pitch, increasing the Hudson Valley lead to 3-0.

The Renegades added on one more in the home half of the sixth, as Correa singled again and then advanced to second. Alec Sole brought him home with a single to left, giving the Renegades a 4-0 lead.

The Scrappers would score their first run of the game in the top of the eighth inning. Eli Echarry tossed three innings in relief for Hudson Valley with two strikeouts, earning his second save of the season.

With an overall record of 20-7, Hudson Valley is the first team in the New York-Penn League to twenty wins. They have the best record of all fourteen teams in the league, and remain in first place of the McNamara Division.
