
Skyforce Outlasts Mad Ant in Overtime

Sioux Falls, S.D. - The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Fort Wayne Mad Ants 114-110 in overtime at the Sanford Pentagon Saturday night. Justin Hamilton made a free throw with 7.1 seconds left in regulation to tie the game and Sioux Falls outscored Fort Wayne 8-4 in the extra session to pick up the win.
Sioux Falls (4-2) trailed by as many as 16 points (31-15) in the opening quarter but cut the deficit to one point (46-45) following a 3-pointer by John Allen midway through the second quarter. Fort Wayne did not give up the lead and led 56-49 at halftime.
Sioux Falls tied the game at 81 apiece on a 3-pointer from A.J. Davis with 1:27 to go in the third quarter and took its first lead of the game at 82-81 following a free throw by Hamilton. Fort Wayne scored the first nine points of the fourth quarter to go up 90-82 but Sioux Falls eventually regained the lead at 98-97 with 4:15 to go. Fort Wayne missed six free throws in the final minute of regulation and missed a potential game-winning shot in the final seconds following Hamilton's free throw.
Olek Czyz had a chance to tie the game with 3.9 seconds left in overtime, but he missed two free throws and A.J. Davis made two free throws to ice the game and help Sioux Falls improve to 4-1 at home.
Hamilton recorded his third double-double in four games with 31 points and 13 rebounds. Allen scored 26 points behind 4-of-5 3-pointers in his home debut and Larry Drew II added 12 points and a game-high nine assists.
Trey McKinney-Jones posted 30 points and six rebounds to lead the Mad Ants. Ron Howard recorded 16 points and six rebounds while Sadiel Rojas contributed 12 points, 12 rebounds and four steals.
Fort Wayne returns home to face Iowa Thursday night at 7 p.m. ET. Sioux Falls hosts Tulsa Friday night at 7 p.m. CT.
