Skyforce Guts Out 105-102 Win Over Warriors

Santa Cruz, CA - The Sioux Falls Skyforce edged the Santa Cruz Warriors 105-102 on Thursday evening from Kaiser Permanente Arena in both team's opening game of the regular season.

Miami HEAT assignee Orlando Robinson led the Skyforce (1-0) with 21 points on 8-18 FGA, 10 rebounds, a career-high seven blocks and four steals. Jamaree Bouyea added 20 points, nine rebounds, six assists, three steals and two blocks.

Sioux Falls outscored Santa Cruz (0-1) 36-23 in the opening period and held the Warriors to just four points in the final 6:18 of the quarter.

The Warriors responded, holding the Skyforce to just 14 points in the second frame, but Sioux Falls took a 50-47 lead at intermission.

Justin Champagnie netted 10 of his 18 points out of halftime (4-6 FGA, 2-2 3PA) to help propel the Skyforce to a five-point advantage in the quarter and an 83-75 lead with 12 minutes remaining.

Santa Cruz tied the contest twice in the last quarter, with the latter being 100-apiece with 1:23 left. Jamaree Bouyea and Caleb Daniels sunk three free throws down the stretch to secure the victory.

Champagnie added nine rebounds and five assists, while Daniels led off the bench with 14 points.

Golden State two-way player Usman Garuba led the Warriors with 16 points and 18 rebounds. Pat Spencer led the team with 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Both teams meet again tomorrow (Friday), with tip-off slated for 9:00 PM CST from Kaiser Permanente Arena.
