Hawkins Drops 32 as Squadron Fall to Indiana 122-119

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - In his first game since being assigned to Birmingham by the New Orleans Pelicans, guard Jordan Hawkins scored 32 points, including five three-pointers as the Squadron fell 122-119 to the Indiana Mad Ants in the regular season opener Friday night.

The Squadron's season-leading scorer Jalen Crutcher dropped 19 points on 7-of-17 shooting from the field, including a 5-of-11 mark from deep, while E.J. Liddell recorded a double-double off the bench with 15 points and 10 boards. Devin Cannady pitched in 14 and did not miss from three with four connections from deep for Birmingham (0-1).

The G League's second-leading rebounder Trey Jemison scored eight points, but was held to six rebounds on the night against Indiana (2-0), the best rebounding team in the league.

Jarace Walker led Indiana with 38 points and Oscar Tshiebwe and Jordan Bell each hauled in 10 rebounds for the Mad Ants.
