The Capital City Go-Go began the NBA G League regular season 1-1 after games against the Delaware Blue Coats and Raptors 905.
In Capital City's matchup against Delaware on December 27, the Go-Go were defeated 134-126 at Chase Fieldhouse in Wilmington, DE. The game was the first in a Go-Go uniform for newly acquired players Taylor Funk and Mychal Mulder, who finished with 8 and 7 points respectively. Five players for the Go-Go finished in double figures, led by a game-high-tying 30 points from guard Devon Dotson.
In the regular season home opener for the Go-Go on December 28 at Entertainment & Sports Arena in Washington, DC, the team rebounded with a 143-109 win over the Raptors 905 - the second-highest scoring game in Go-Go history. The Go-Go got out to a quick lead in the first quarter, outscoring the Raptors 905, 33-20. The team would go on to maintain a double-digit lead for the remainder of the game.
Wizards two-way player Jared Butler put up a team-high 11 points in the second quarter and led the team in assists with a double-double performance of 24 points and 13 assists in his highest-scoring night with the Go-Go. He also added five rebounds and three steals.
Another Wizards two-way player, Eugene Omoruyi, led the team in points with 25 on 10-of-11 shooting from the field. Michael Foster Jr. led the team in rebounds with his first double-double of the season, scoring 11 points to go alongside 10 rebounds off the bench.
The Go-Go saw five more players score in double figures, including all five starters and Wizards assignment player Ryan Rollins, who scored 19 points in 14 minutes. As a team, the Go-Go shot a season-high 56.8% from the field and tied their season-high in assists with 34.
The Go-Go remain home this weekend to close out 2023, with a game against the Motor City Cruise on Saturday, December 30 @ 6pm at Entertainment & Sports Arena. Tickets are still available via Ticketmaster.
