Skyforce Acquires Whiteside

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Dec. 14, 2012) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today that the team has acquired center Hassan Whiteside. To make room for him on the roster the team waived forward Dan Coleman. The active roster now stands at 10 players.

Whiteside averaged 1.5 points and 2.1 rebounds in 19 games with the Sacramento Kings from 2010-12. He was selected in the second round (33rd overall) of the 2010 NBA Draft after playing just one season at Marshall University. The 7-0, 235-pound center averaged 5.9 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.5 blocks in 25 games (eight starts) with the Reno Bighorns from 2010-12 while on assignment from Sacramento. He was named Conference USA Freshman and Defensive Player of the Year after averaging 13.1 points, 8.9 rebound and 5.4 blocks in 34 games.
