
Skyforce Acquires John Edwards

Sioux Falls, S.D. (January 8, 2009) - The Sioux Falls Skyforce announced today the acquisition of former NBA player John Edwards. The active roster now stands at 10 players.
Edwards holds NBA career averages of 1.5 points and 1.0 rebound in 6.7 minutes of playing time over two seasons. He appeared in 25 games with the Indiana Pacers during the 2004-05 season after making the team as an undrafted rookie and saw action in 40 games with the Atlanta Hawks the following season. He appeared in 20 games with the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (15) and Tulsa 66ers (5) in 2006-07 and averaged 9.9 points and 4.0 rebounds while shooting 52.4 percent from the floor.
The former walk-on at Kent State earned All-Mid-America Conference First Team honors as a senior and was named Defensive Player of the Year after averaging a conference-high 2.6 blocks.
The Skyforce's next game is on Friday, Jan. 9 at home against the Dakota Wizards. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Arena.
