SOUTH BEND, Ind-The Beloit Sky Carp captured their third straight win with a wild 8-5 decision over the host South Bend Cubs Tuesday night.

The Sky Carp, who improved to 3-1 on the season, plated three runs in the top of the 10th inning to decide the game. After Yiddi Cappe scored on a wild pitch to put Beloit in front, Dalvy Rosario hit a two-run single to give the Sky Carp a three-run cushion.

Newcomer Matt Pushard picked up the save with a perfect 10th inning, while fellow newly minted Sky Carp Kyle Crigger (1-0) notched the win despite allowing four runs (three earned) in two innings.

Holt Jones got the start for Beloit and was outstanding, pitching 4 2-3 scoreless frames. Jake Schrand and Chandler Jozwiak combined to allow just one unearned run in 2 1-3 innings in relief.

Osiris Johnson got the scoring started with an RBI single in the second. After the Cubs tied the game in the bottom of the sixth, the Sky Carp plated a pair of runs on a passed ball and a Jacob Berry sacrifice fly in the seventh to make it 3-1.

When Jake Thompson connected with his first home run of the season to make it 4-1, the Sky Carp lead looked safe. The Cubs bounced back for a pair of runs in the eighth, and after Cappe drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, the Cubs again rallied for a pair of runs to force extra innings.

The two teams will play again Wednesday at 6:05 p.m. in South Bend. The Sky Carp will return home Tuesday to face the Cedar Rapids Kernels at 6:35 p.m.

The Beloit Sky Carp are the High-A Affiliate of the Miami Marlins and play their games at ABC Supply Stadium -- the heart of the Riverbend District.
