Beloit Sky Carp News Release
BELOIT - A sellout crowd. A picture-perfect Friday night. And a thrilling victory.
That's the recipe for baseball nirvana, and that's what fans experienced in a 6-5 Sky Carp win over the Dragons at ABC Supply Stadium.
Josh Zamora hit a two-run double in the bottom of the eighth inning to turn a 5-4 deficit into a 6-5 victory. Nigel Belgrave closed things out in the top of the ninth for his first save of the season as the Sky Carp completed a rally after being down 4-0.
The crowd of 3,790 reveled in Bluey Night, as both Bluey and Bingo roamed the concourse and greeted fans all evening long.
Marlins uber-prospect Thomas White allowed just one unearned in four innings, the Dragons extended their advantage to 4-0 after a three-run fifth.
Jake DeLeo got the Carp back into the game with a two-run homer in the sixth. After the teams traded runs in the seventh, Zamora had the game's biggest hit, a two-run double that scored Mark Coley and Carlos Santiago.
