Sugar Land Space Cowboys News Release
(ROUND ROCK, Texas) - One strike away from a victory, the Sugar Land Skeeters were defeated 3-2 by the Round Rock Express on a walk-off home run from Yohel Pozo on Friday night at Dell Diamond.
The walk-off shot came against Skeeters right-hander Ronel Blanco. It was Pozo's second walk-off home run against the Skeeters this year.
Bryan De La Cruz drove in both Skeeters runs. He provided a sacrifice fly to score Alex De Goti in the first and launched a prodigious solo home run in the sixth inning. De La Cruz has hit four of his seven home runs this year against Round Rock.
Hector Velazquez made his first start of the season and allowed a run on four hits, while striking out four, through four innings.
Enoli Paredes and Bryan Abreu continued their MLB Rehab Assignments, each throwing scoreless innings and setting the Express down in order. Seth Martinez contributed two hitless and scoreless frames, striking out two.
Round Rock right-hander Jimmy Herget received the winning decision, with a scoreless ninth inning. The Express scored their other run on the night when Ryan Dorow came around on a wild pitch in the fourth inning.
JP France will take the mound for the Skeeters at 6:05 p.m. on Saturday, with the Express starting left-hander Brock Burke.
