
Skeeters Continue Offensive Outburst with 15-1 Win over Isotopes

ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico - The Sugar Land Skeeters belted three home runs and tallied 17 hits as they marched to a 15-1 victory Saturday night against the Albuquerque Isotopes.
The Skeeters (3-0) have now scored at least nine runs in each of their first three games as a Triple A franchise and have recorded at least 15 hits in each contest. The 15 runs on Saturday night matched the highest output from a Triple A West team this season. Through three games, the Skeeters are hitting .389 as a team.
Ronnie Dawson, Jake Meyers and Alex De Goti each provided their first home runs of the season. Dawson capped a two-run second inning with a prodigious home run to straightaway right field at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park.
Meyers deposited a solo homer to right field and De Goti followed with a three-run shot four batters later to put the Skeeters up 9-0 in the third inning. Albuquerque starter Ian Clarkin allowed all three home runs and was handed the loss after allowing nine runs on eight hits through 2 â..." innings.
Jose Siri pushed his RBI streak to three games, delivering a two-run single in the first and an RBI double in the fifth. He leads Triple A West with nine RBIs this season.
Skeeters starter Brett Conine - making his first appearance at the Triple A level - did not allow a hit through his first three innings of work and collected the winning decision. Conine allowed one run on four hits and struck out three through 5 â..." innings. It was the longest outing this season by a Skeeters starter. Skeeters relievers pushed their scoreless streak to nine innings. Right-hander Austin Hansen threw 3 1/3 innings and struck out four in his season debut
Taylor Jones opened the Skeeters scoring in the first inning with an RBI opposite-field double. Bryan De La Cruz helped put the finishing touches on the runaway win with a three-run double in the seventh.
The Isotopes (0-3) got their lone run in the fifth with a solo home run from Jose Briceno
A pair of right-handers with Major League experience will take the mound at 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, with the Skeeters sending out right-hander Nivaldo Rodriguez and the Isotopes starting right-hander Ryan Castellani.
