
Six Run Eighth Gives Lexington the Win, 6-2

Rome, GA - The Lexington Legends defeated the Rome Braves 6-2 Wednesday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium before a crowd of 2,445. Six unearned runs in the eighth inning paved the way for the win.
Rome took a 2-0 lead in the seventh courtesy of Braxton Davidson's two out two run double. In the eighth, Rome reliever Dustin Emmons walked the leadoff hitter but was able to get two outs before Michael Hill reached on an error by first baseman Wigberto Nevarez. Lexington proceeded to score six unearned runs highlighted by a run scoring singles by Elier Hernandez and Wander Franco, and two run doubles by Samir Duenez and Luis Villegas making it a 6-2 final.
Pedro Fernandez (4-0) picks up the victory for Lexington and Rome's Dustin Emmons (0-4) is hit with the loss.
