Giving up five runs in the second inning Calgary dug themselves a hole and despite a five run inning of their own they weren't able to tie up the game.

Mark Michael (1-1) took the loss on the mound by giving up seven runs on nine hits in five innings while out of the bullpen Calgary's Rob Naegele and Dan Morari combined to throw a scoreless sixth inning. Demetrius Banks (2-1) recorded the win with five frames and six runs given up while Ryan Riddle (3) registered his third save by getting the final out of the game with the tying run on third base.

At the plate Drew Miller stayed red hot with his seventh home run of the season while also scoring three runs.

Chico took a big early lead of 5-0 in the second inning as Chris Lubanski and Jake Rife singled, Oscar Sigala and Brandon Fowler both drove in runs with base hits, Darrick Hale doubled in two, and Bobby Jill capped off the inning with a run batted in single.

Calgary scored a run in the fourth inning as Drew Miller went deep for his third home run of the day and a 5-1 score.

The Outlaws responded with a home run in the fifth when Lubanski singled and Rife went big fly for a 7-1 advantage.

Chico added a run for a 8-6 lead in the seventh frame when with two outs Adam Buchini singled, stole second base, and scored on a Sigala RBI single.

Calgary got one run back in the bottom of the inning as Miller walked and Jimmy Rohan collected a RBI triple for a 8-7 final
