San Angelo Colts News Release

San Angelo, Texas---Daryl Jones continued to be unstoppable at home and starting pitcher Chandler Barnard tossed six strong innings to lead the Colts to their third straight win, 12-6 over the Rio Grande Valley White Wings at Foster Field Sunday night.

Francisco Santana (2) led off the game for the White Wings with his first of two home runs and Antonio DeJesus (2) hit a solo shot of his own in the third inning to give Rio Grande Valley a 2-0 lead before the Colts got on the board. San Angelo would score three in the third inning though, capped off by a Jones (9) homer.

The White Wings scored single runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to take a 5-3 lead, but the Colts broke the game open in the bottom of the seventh. Ronnie Gaines (8) started the inning with a home run and after Mark Ramos singled, Jones (10) followed with his second long ball of the night. The Colts added two more later in the seventh and four in the eighth to win 12-6.

Steve MacFarland (1-2, 9.00) worked an inning and a third of relief for the Colts to earn the win, while Rio Grande Valley reliever Renee Cortez (0-1, 22.50) took the loss.

Tomorrow night the Colts will send right-hander Gorman Romero (2-0, 3.27) to the mound against White Wings righty and pitching coach Alexander Concepcion (2-1, 4.70), as San Angelo looks to sweep the four game series.
