Utah Flash News Release
(Bakersfield, Calif) - Center James Lang scored 22 points to lead six Utah players in double figures as the Flash claimed a 103-92 NBA Development League victory over the Bakersfield Jam Saturday night at Rabobank Arena.
Utah led the entire first half after Lang's lay-up broke a 2-2 tie. The Flash led by as many as 11 points in the first period before the Jam climbed back to within seven by the break, 24-17. Bakersfield continued to whittle away at the Utah lead, catching the Flash briefly at 34-all before Utah took the lead back to seven. Bakersfield rode an 11-4 run at the end of the half to close within a point at halftime, 51-50.
Led by Lang's seven points in the third period, the Flash stretched the lead back to 11 points before the Jam roared back on the strength of Justin Reed's nine points in the stanza to trail by three, 75-72. But that was a close as Bakersfield would get as Utah slowly pulled away for the final margin.
Kevin Kruger followed Lang with 18 points and 13 assists for the Flash (23-24). Bakersfield was led by Scooter McFadgon's game-high 25 points and Reed with 20 points. Patrick O'Bryant, on assignment from the Golden State Warriors, added 14 points, a team-high nine rebounds and had three blocks. Mateen Cleaves dished out 13 assists for the Jam.
