Bakersfield, CA - James Lang recorded 22 points to help lift the Utah Flash to a victory in their last road game of the season with a 103-92 defeat of the Bakersfield Jam in NBA Development League action Saturday night at the Rabobank Arena.
Lang, who is among league leaders in field-goal percentage, picked up his 22 points on 9-of-13 shooting from the field.
The Flash increase their winning streak to a season-high three games and improve their record to 23-24 on the year. Utah welcomes the Idaho Stampede to Orem on Monday at 7 p.m. Bakersfield falls to 10-37 on the season and returns home for a Wednesday showdown against Los Angeles.
The Flash took a 51-50 lead into the halftime break after Lamar Rice threw down a strong dunk at the buzzer after a Kevin Kruger missed jumper.
Despite 16 points from Scooter McFadgon and a team shooting percentage of 60-percent in the first half, the Jam were unable to take the lead into the break.
Lang scored 12 of his 22 points in the first half, while Rice recorded 9 first half points to help give the Flash the one point edge.
After a 58-58 tie early in the third quarter, the Flash executed a 14-3 run to take a 72-61 lead. But the Jam responded with an 11-3 run in the final minutes of the third quarter to cut the Flash lead to 75-72 heading into the final period.
Six players hit double-digits in the scoring column for the Flash. Kruger doubled up for the Flash with 18 points and a 13 assists, while Boston Celtics assignee Gabe Pruitt chipped in 17 points. Brian Jackson added 10 points for the Flash. Rice finished with 14 points and Brian Hamilton recorded a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
McFadgon finished with a game-high 25points in the losing effort, while Justin Reed added 20 points. Nick Lewis added 11 points and Patrick O'Bryant chipped in 14. Trey Johnson contributed 14 points for the Jam.
Utah finishes the season with a 7-1 record in the eight games played against the Jam.
