June 12, 2007 - Texas League (TL1)
Tulsa Drillers News Release
A total of six players will represent the Tulsa Drillers at the 2007 Texas League All-Star Game that will be played at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi on June 26. The Drillers that will play for the North Division in the showcase event include shortstop Jonathan Herrera, outfielder Matt Miller and pitchers Jarrett Grube, Steven Register, Greg Reynolds and Juan Morillo. Rosters for both divisions were determined through voting by league managers and media members.
The North Division team will be led by Springfield Cardinals manager Ron Warner and his coaching staff, while Corpus Christi manager Dave Clark and his coaches will guide the South Division squad.
Eight players from the Cardinals and seven from the Arkansas Travelers were named to the North Division roster.
Herrera has been a key cog for the Drillers offense this season, hitting in either the number one or two spot in the order. He is among the team leaders in both hits and runs scored.
Miller has been a top run producer for Tulsa, leading the club in both home runs and runs batted in.
As a group, the Drillers pitchers' have been one of the top staffs in the Texas League this season. Reynolds would lead the TL in ERA if he had pitched enough innings, but he has been on the disabled list since May 15. He has compiled a 4-1 record and a 1.58 ERA in seven starts this season.
Grube, Register and Morillo have been top performers out of the Tulsa bullpen. Grube is tied with Reynolds for the team lead in victories with four. He has a 1.36 ERA and went 18 straight appearances earlier this season without surrendering an earned run.
Register is leading the TL with 22 saves this year. He has failed in save situations only twice this year.
Morillo is 3-1 in 23 appearances out of the pen. He has held league hitters to only a .200 batting average. Morillo is replacing Arkansas' Daniel Davidson, who is injured, on the North Division roster.
